Tasmanian Open Space Policy and Planning Framework
In a place like Tasmania that is gifted with so much open space and such an expansive reserve network, it is important to have an over-arching view about where and why such land should be set aside and how it should be managed.
The project develops a policy framework for effective open space planning and provision at a State, regional and local level in Tasmania.
It establishes an over-arching vision, policy statements and detailed actions, to provide consistency, improve the capacity and commitment of all parties to achieve better policy and practices.
The framework has been adopted by local councils across the State as a guide to ‘best practice’ open space planning.
