Bonegilla Migrant Experience
The Bonegilla Migrant Experience is a key cultural tourism attraction for the City of Wodonga. The site is listed on the National Heritage register as it was the largest and longest operating migrant reception and training centre of the post-war era in Australia.
The master plan addresses the physical layout of the site and the built fabric to create new and better ways to experience the site’s important cultural history and to facilitate adaptive reuse of its buildings and surrounds.
The plan lays out a clear set of priorities for new works and improvements over time. The Council has constructed a new arrival centre based on the master plan.
