Cataract Gorge Visitor Facilities and Interpretation Plan
The brief called for an ‘inspirational and feasible concept for the development of visitor facilities and interpretation in the Gorge’.
The project activated and renewed the arrival to the Gorge, delivering clearer way-finding and a powerful experience of the site.
The project demonstrates that strongly integrated thematic interpretation directions, business planning and sensitive design can deliver community support, positive directions for change, enhancement of the visitor experience of a place and long-term economic benefits. The project has been fully delivered by Council over a 5-year period.
